SUSPEX

Lala Corriere was born and raised in Colorado.

Her mother, a great fan of Agatha Christie, first taught her the love of books by demonstration, finding daily quiet time devoted  to reading. Lala was no doubt a premiere and loyal monthly subscriber to Dr. Seuss’s children’s books, and years later, one of the first teenage girls to hide Erica Jong’s 'Fear of Flying' deep under the folds of her mattress.

Lala became passionate about all the arts. She starred in several lead roles in plays and operettas, and actively participated in a variety of visual arts from pottery to painting. Her fifth grade teacher, Miss Macey, was the first mentor to suggest she consider a career in writing.

An early career path blended the industries of Interior Design and Real Estate. She also invested time as a volunteer in the non-profit sector. When her children left for college, Lala returned to the hidden strongbox that held all those secret notes;  the scribbled words contained  pieces of her dreamher first novel.

Her career highlight came when legendary author Sidney Sheldon endorsed her writing with several blurbs and offered his continued mentorship. Her peers often compare her writing voice to his, of which she is most humbled.

Lala recently become a desert rat. She nestles there with her husband of over 20 years, Charles, and the kiddy-catsBibelot, Sidney, and Charlotte.  She has three sons: Jason, a graduate of the University of Colorado, Cameron, a graduate of Vanderbilt University , and Tyler, a graduate of the University of Puget Sound. Family and friends fill her heart and occupy her soul.

She’s a full-time writer. Interests include professional critique partnerships, entertaining, bridge, personal growth, gardening, and enjoying the abundant wildlife that find sanctuary on her grounds.
